Fatherson – Gone Fission

Fatherson are a three piece band from Scotland. They make beautiful music that sits somewhere between Rock and Pop and sound like a laid back Twin Atlantic. They’ve got all the precision of the lyrics, but without the urgency of the music which makes for an interesting and haunting listen.

Fatherson have released a couple of EPs and are starting to gather momentum, after being picked up by the BBC and added to their playlist. Fatherson have also got an impressive record of support slots featuring the likes of Frightened Rabbit, Feeder and Panic! at the Disco. The band are also supporting The Xcerts on the Scottish leg of their tour, which kicks off on Wednesday in Glasgow.

Gone Fission is available as a free download from the band’s bandcamp and is the opening track to their EP ‘Where The Water Meets The Land’

It’s shaping up to be a strong year for Scottish bands; The Twilight Sad recently released their new album to critical acclaim, The Xcerts and Twin Atlantic are both going from strength to strength and Frightened Rabbit, Sucioperro and Biffy Clyro are all working on new albums, due out this year. Fatherson fit perfectly in this scottish collective of awe-inspiring music, and should hopefully get the recognition they deserve.
