Brother and Bones – Back To Shore

Brother and Bones are a five piece band from the south west of England. They make fantastic folk based music that also has elements of punk and garage rock which creates a really powerful sound that is tender one moment and breaking down the door the next. Brother and Bones released their debut EP ‘Skin’ in June 2011.

Brother and Bones have just finished a tour with the fabulous Jim Lockey and The Solemn Sun but still have plenty of live dates booked for the summer including sets at Secret Garden Party, 2000 Trees and Beach Break. Brother and Bones will also be providing support for Kassidy on a few of their UK tour dates.

‘Back To Shore’ is the opening track from their debut EP and is a wonderful song. Brother and Bones ease the listener into the track with a simple repetitive acoustic melody that stays throughout the song and is used as the foundation for the rest of the track, with the other instruments being built around it to create a deep, multi layered behemoth of a song. The five of them have managed to create a song that is very busy but never overcrowded. The incredible depth of their soundscape provides an awesome partner for the distinctive vocals that compliment, rather than overpower.
