Lucy Rose – Lines

Lucy Rose is an English singer/songwriter from Warwickshire who’s put in time with Bombay Bicycle Club, providing vocals on their last two albums as well as live, but is now gearing up to release her debut album ‘Like I Used To’ which is pencilled in for a September 24th 2012 release.

Lucy Rose plays Rockness this weekend and is currently in the midst of a UK headline tour with gigs still to play in Belfast, Oxford, Bath and London, amongst others. Lucy is also playing a ridiculous amount of festivals, including 2000 Trees and Bestival. You can see all the dates and buy tickets on her website. http://www.lucyrosemusic.com/gigs/

Lines is the first single to be taken from ‘Like I Used To’ and is released on July 23rd. It’s a fantastic piece of indie pop. Lucy’s beautiful vocals soar over the bizarre time signatures, which gives the song some real edge.  It’s a complex song, disguised as simple pop and not knowing where the song is going next makes for a really enjoyable and electrifying listen.
