Proxies – Gambit

Proxies are an alternative band from Yorkshire, UK who combine electronica with straight forward rock to create a unique sound that’s blistering and beautiful.

Proxies first came to my attention with their debut single ‘If I Had A Penny To My Name’ which featured Sean Smith from the Blackout and they’ve followed that up with the five track EP ‘Lost Tapes, Volume 1’ which is available as a free download from their website. It’s a neat little package of songs that are diverse, brilliant and capture the essence of the band perfectly. Why not download it now?

Proxies have got a few live dates this summer including Y-Not festival and Redfest.

Gambit is the third track on Lost Tapes Volume 1 and starts with a simple piano led interlude that carries on to act as an initial backing for the vocals. This quiet and stripped back approach doesn’t last for long before the tempo really gets ramped up with powerful electronic explosions and thumping guitar riffs. With vocals that would easily command a crowd and numerous eclectic breakdowns that stun, Gambit sounds amazing on record but could easily become something very special live. Here’s to more tour news soon.
