The Bots – Northern Lights

The Bots are a two piece band from California composed of brothers Anaiah and Mikaiah who combine punk and blues to create a raw sound that packs a punch.

The Bots have released one full length album 2009’s Self Titled Album and two, two track EPs Black and White Lights and Ladies and Gentlemen. Work has started on their next release with a tentative release date of summer 2012 but with an eclectic range of tour dates The Bots are certainly keeping themselves busy away from the studio. Having supported Tenacious D on your latest UK tour and supporting Blur as they head out on their intimate 4 date warm up tour later this month The Bots have clearly got a diverse fanbase and a broad spectrum of appeal.  The Bots are also playing a Converse Represent show at the 100 Club on August 2nd alongside Savages, Swiss Lips and a special guest headliner. Tickets are free you just need to apply.

Northern Lights is taken from the Ladies and Gentlemen EP and is frantic punk stormer. A barrage of guitars and drums is thrown at you as the vocals of the two brothers furiously straddle the bluesy riffs. The pace of the track is phenomenal and relentless yet still manages to enchant rather than push away.  The jarring final breakdown is as beautiful as it is chaotic and leaves you desperate for the next punk fuelled hit.
