Future Of The Left – Johnny Borrell Afterlife / Prescriptions

Future Of The Left are an amazing band, based in Cardiff, Wales. They blend wit, anger and social commentary ontop of a jarring, juddering mashing of bass led, energetic music that’s furious and fantastic.

Future Of The Left released their third album, The Plot Against Common Sense earlier this year and it’s very much one of my albums of the year. If you haven’t given it a chance yet, go and get it. The Plot Against Common Sense tour is coming to an end, with only slots at this years Reading and Leeds festival left to play. If you’re going, get to the NME/Radio 1 stage and watch Future Of The Left blow you away. They’re an awe-inspiring live act.

Future Of The Left recorded a session for Mike Davies’ BBC Radio One Punk Show at the Maida Vale Studios that was aired earlier tonight, 15th August 2012, and during it they aired two new songs. Johnny Borell Afterlife and Prescriptions. There’s no plans to release either song yet as they are still ‘live first drafts’ but they sound amazing.

  1. Thanks for these. Looking forward to their new album, should take less time as they now have money from winning the Welsh Music Prize and Falkous said he had lots of song ideas 😀
